Chengdu International Studies University

School History

Chengdu International Studies University (CISU) is a new type of full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education to implement undergraduate level academic education. The predecessor of Chengdu International Studies University was Chengdu Institute Sichuan International Studies University,which was founded in 2000 and was renamed Chengdu International Studies University in September 2023 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

Location&Environment

The university has two campuses in Chengdu and Yibin, Chengdu Campus is located at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain in Dujiangyan, which is a famous world scenic and cultural attraction; Yibin Campus is located in the national Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone of Yibin, which is at the core of Yibin “University City”. Currently, there are more than 24,000 students enrolled in the university.

International Education Background

In terms of international education, the university has established good cooperative relations with many universities in 24 countries, such as the United Kingdom,Singapore, Belarus, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, etc., and promotes the Sino foreign joint cultivation programs. The implementation of study abroad programs,such as undergraduates going abroad for further studies, has led to an increase in the number of students benefiting from the programs year by year.
